Great books are created through the authors mind
But we have a greater book that some won't find
It was written by our Mother each day she lived
Not about what can I take but about what can I give
It was not written for print or for her fame
Nor would she expect it to contain her name
Her mind was important and played a big part
But her book came from her loving heart
It was not preplanned nor laid out that way
It was from her actions as she lived each day
The ones who knew it are those who were near
Especially those she loved and held very dear
It came from the Bible and there got its start
Because she was a Christian doing her part
It was her personal edition written each day
We are her children so we received the best
Her loving actions were, for us, and was her bequest
We were her centerpieces for whom she lived
It was all of the love that she could give
We pray Lord keep her now that from us she is gone
We pray that her examples will bring us along
So Mom we all promise to do our best
That the Lord may take us when we are laid to rest
