A Young Love

How can I tell you of a love
The one you make me feel
Is it a dream to end at dawn
Which breaking light will steal

It happens if you enter
I hardly need to see
Your magic so floods the air
My heart floats light and free

I hope that it will linger on
As Mom said love is fine
Of this I should have no doubt
Since this love is so divine

How can I tell you of this love
A love so vividly real
When in my doubt it is a dream
That truth in time will seal

It feels like the love I seek
Not all fleeting earthly lust
You are so pleasing to my eye
But my heart is what I'll trust

I carved the large X of love
On the school yard's only tree
Yet you walk by nonchalant
Those initials are of you and me

How do I tell you of such love
When you hardly know I'm around
It would be a crushing blow
If love you have already found

No courage to speak to you
Keeps holding me at bay
I just must not wait so long
That another steal you away

Loss of such a tender love
Would leave my life so blue
My heart could be so broken
I might never risk love anew

If I dream Lord don't tell me
Just hold off the coming day
But if I am now fully awake
Help me speak this love today

Most have such thoughts and dreams.
If you are old enough to marry don't
be a growing statistic. Don't let your
emotion be your only marriage guide.
Take time to see if you have the
same goals in life and get marital
advice so your love either way can
always be a pleasant memory.
