The Bible was not written as a science book nor was its purpose to describe the physical world. It was written to guide man in spiritual principles. When the Bible does describe the physical world, it is accurate and far ahead of mans prideful disregard & stumbling discoveries. the writers did not have to know these scientific facts. God provided them through inspiration.

Vitamin K is produced in the gut but infants under eight days old cannot produce Vitamin K as the stomach hasn't become fully functional until eight days so His instructions were to circumcise at eight days of age. Merck Pharm Company discovered vitamin K, trade name Mephyton, and now infants are given Mephyton inj so they now can be circumcised at birth for convenience and the Old Law on circumcision was replaced by the New Testament so the eight day wait is no longer required.

Galileo Galile was a Christian as were Nicholus Copernicus and Johannes Kepler and said the earth revolved around the sun. Galileo was called to Rome to deny this claim as the State Church, in error, said the earth was the center of the universe and did not want contradiction.

During the excavations of Jericho (1930-1936) Garstang found something so startling that a statement of what was found was prepared and signed by himself and two other members of the team. In reference to these findings Garstang says: "As to the main fact, then, there remains no doubt: the walls fell outwards so completely that the attackers would be able to clamber up and over their ruins into the city." Why so unusual? Because the walls of cities do not fall outwards, they fall inwards. And yet in Joshua 6:20 we read "...The wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city every man straight ahead, and they took the city." The walls were made to fall outward.

Hittites excavations further proves reliability of the bible. There was virtually no known history, other than in 11 books of the the bible, of the Hittites prior to 1906 when archeologists excavations extensively proved their existence. Critics ( until 1906) often argued that the bible was not reliable because 11 books of the bible made mention of the Hittites many times yet there was nothing else to support the bible claim so many, LIKE TODAY, believed men instead of God.

Hittite tablets were excavated from the ruins of the ancient Hittite capital Hattusa located near the modern Turkish town of Boghazkšy about 210 kilometers east of Ankara. Scientific excavation of the ruins by a German expedition began in 1906. About 10,000 clay tablets script were recovered so finally extensive evidence of the accuracy of the bible was proven.

Hittites - Palestine and Syria appear to have been originally inhabited by three different tribes.

1. The Semites, living on the east of the isthmus of Suez. They were nomadic and pastoral tribes.
2. The Phoenicians, who were merchants and traders; and
3. The Hittites, who were the warlike element of this confederation of tribes. They inhabited the whole region between the Euphrates and Damascus, their chief cities being Carchemish on the Euphrates, and Kadesh, now Tell Neby Mendeh, in the Orontes valley, about six miles south of the Lake of Homs. These Hittites seem to have risen to great power as a nation, as for a long time they were formidable rivals of the Egyptian and Assyrian empires. In the book of Joshua they always appear as the dominant race to the north of Galilee.

Somewhere about the twenty-third century B.C. the Syrian confederation, led probably by the Hittites, arched against Lower Egypt, which they took possession of, making Zoan their capital. Their rulers were the Hyksos, or shepherd kings. They were at length finally driven out of Egypt. Rameses II. sought vengeance against the "vile Kheta," as he called them, and encountered and defeated them in the great battle of Kadesh, four centuries after Abraham. (See JOSHUA ) They are first referred to in Scripture in the history of Abraham, who bought from Ephron the Hittite the field and the cave of Machpelah (Gen. 15:20: 23:3-18 36:2 )They were then settled at Kirjath-arba. From this tribe Esau took his first two wives (Gen 26:34 36:2)

They are afterwards mentioned in the usual way among the inhabitants of the Promised Land (Ex. 23:28) They were closely allied to the Amorites, and are frequently mentioned along with them as inhabiting the mountains of Palestine. When the spies entered the land they seem to have occupied with the Amorites the mountain region of Judah (Num. 13:29) They took part with the other Canaanites against the Israelites (Josh. 9:1; 11:3)

After this there are few references to them in Scripture. Mention is made of "Ahimelech the Hittite" (1 Sam. 26:6), and of "Uriah the Hittite," one of David's chief officers (2 Sam. 23:39; ( 1 Chr. 11:41) In the days of Solomon they were a powerful confederation in the north of Syria, and were ruled by "kings." They are met with after the Exile still a distinct people (Ezra 9:1; ( Neh. 13:23-28)

The Hebrew merchants exported horses from Egypt not only for the kings of Israel, but also for the Hittites (1 Kings 10:28-29 ).

The Hittites adopted many of the gods of the Sumerians and Old Babylonians. The odd thing about the Hittites, though, is that they seemed to have recognized that all gods were legitimate gods. Whenever they conquered a people, they adopted that people's gods into their religious system.

As far as history is concerned, this has tremendous consequences for the history of the Hebrews. The Assyrians seem to have adopted the same tolerance towards other religions, which allowed the Jewish faith to persist after the Jewish state was decimated by the Assyrians. And the Assyrians seem to have adopted the same tendency to adopt the gods of conquered people, so the Assyrian conquerors of Palestine adopted the Hebrew God, Yahweh, into their religion. This eventually led to the only major religious schism in Hebrew history, the schism between Jews and Samaritans (there are still Samaritans alive today).

I. The Hittite civilization dominated Mesopotamia from C. 2000 BC to 1200 BC.

• Hittites originally migrated from the Anatolia peninsula of present-day Turkey.
• Hittites assimilated much from the Sumerian civilization.
• Kings were warriors who were noted for the ferocity.
• Only king of note was Suppilulimas (C. 1380-1340 BC) who spent most of his time expanding Hittite borders and conquering enemies.

II. The cultural achievements of the Hittites primarily occurred in the development of tools of war.

• Hittite language has not yet been fully deciphered.
• Hittites most remembered for the development of Iron which was used to forge new weapons.
• Hittites created a new and improved three-wheeled chariot.
• Hittites also developed many new siege tactics used throughout the Roman world.

III. Hittite civilization ended suddenly, C. 1200 BC, probably at the hands of the Assyrians
