I CAN DO MY PART

I stooped to dig a dandelion.
My neighbor laughed at me.
"My friend, you're wasting time," she said.
"Winds bring the seed you see."

I stood and slowly looked around.
Her words made lots of sense.
Puff balls dotted every yard
And showed in every fence.

"I'll not give up," I said to her.
I turned and stooped again.
"I'll never get them all, of course.
I'll do just what I can."

The weeds are like the sin, I thought,
That's threatening our land.
I can't do very much, I know,
But I can lend a helping hand.

The world is full of children
Who need to know God's word.
And maybe I can teach a child
Who might have never heard.

I cannot do it all alone,
But I can reach some heart.
I cannot hope to help them all,
But I can do my part
