My dust ( Recycle Me )
When my life is laid down for sleep
I pray Lord that my soul You keep
And perhaps my body on earth may stay
Where it be useful in life some way
Left not Lord in a darkened hole
But free for life to take and hold
Left where the sun and moon both shine
To fill the spaces that once were mine
Perhaps to feed roses for lovers to share
Or grow sweet berries for a hungry bear
To grow an oak where squirrels feed
Or a grassy lawn that children need
Reside in raindrops for a new rainbow
That the world may enjoy an extra glow
Make a Meadow Lark happy to sing
That very soon new life will spring
As life increases each passing year
The more and more space grows dear
Tradition we should not try to defend
When using earth’s space is it’s only end
It’s only a habit of lore as to where we lay
So place my dust where it’s on display
So that my marker be alive to cheer
Not under a stone saying ...Al... lies here
Save that space where a grave may lay
Leaving open for use in work or play
Lord as You lay out life’s precious days
Use my body in Your wondrous ways
I've been given more than my due
And I know it all came from You
So thank You for my life sublime
May my soul and body be ever Thine
